In the Samarkand region, a road traffic accident occurred, as a result of which the life of a 15-year-old girl was endangered. On Panjikent Street, the driver of a Gentra car hit the pedestrian at high speed and instantly fled the scene. This was reported by the regional Department of Road Traffic Safety.
The incident took place on September 24 at about 19:00. The driver, moving against the oncoming flow of traffic, hit the pedestrian without being able to stop. Since the victim was a minor, the incident caused great concern among the population.
As a result of prompt search operations, the driver and his car were found in one of the workshops. A criminal case was initiated against him. According to the investigative authorities, the accused is being prosecuted under Article 266 (violation of traffic safety rules or rules of operation of vehicles) and Article 117 (leaving in danger) of the Criminal Code.
It became known that the driver resides in the Kushchinor mahalla of the Tayloq district. At a meeting held by the regional Department of Internal Affairs, he stated that he regretted what he had done and promised not to repeat such a mistake.
Currently, the investigative department of the Samarkand district DIA is conducting a preliminary investigation. Officials emphasized that during the investigation, all circumstances will be thoroughly examined and measures will be taken in accordance with the law.
Thus, this road traffic accident once again reminded drivers of the need to be careful, follow the rules, and value human life as the highest priority.
