The Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs has issued an official statement regarding reports circulating on social media in recent days, stating that "child thieves have appeared in the capital."
According to these reports, there were allegedly individuals who tried to deceive children into cars in front of schools and apartment buildings. However, according to law enforcement agencies, no cases of child abduction have been recorded in the capital over the past five years. Consequently, the disseminated information is unfounded and untrue.
Representatives of the Main Department of Internal Affairs urged citizens not to believe unconfirmed information and not to disseminate it. Because such messages can cause panic among the public.
We remind you that a similar situation occurred earlier in the Tashkent region. One boy told his relatives "they wanted to kidnap me" because he returned home late. Later it became known that he went to his friend's house without questioning and said such a word to get out of the situation.
