The head of a tourist company in Samarkand was arrested for demanding a large sum of money from citizens, promising to send them to the USA through Mexico. This was reported by the State Security Service.

According to reports, he gained the trust of three citizens living in Samarkand city and Urgut district and promised to process the necessary documents. He demanded $32,000 from each, a total of $96,000.

During the operation, the suspect was detained while receiving $15,000 in advance. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 25, Part 4, Clause "a" of Article 168 of the Criminal Code - "Fraud on a particularly large scale," and an investigation is underway.
