
The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will meet US President Donald Trump in Washington next week. This was announced by US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
On his page on the X social network, Landau wrote, "Mr. Minister, thank you very much for your effective and successful visit to your country. This visit will pave the way for a wonderful meeting between our presidents in Washington next week.
You demonstrated an excellent example of Uzbekistan's hospitality!" Landau emphasized that the visit of Uzbekistan's leader plays an important role in ensuring the successful outcome of the meeting between the leaders of the two countries.
According to the news agency Reuters, Trump will hold a summit with the leaders of the five Central Asian countries—Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. The meeting is scheduled to take place in Washington on November 6.
Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev confirmed his participation at the summit and expressed gratitude to Trump for the invitation. According to Reuters, the meeting is taking place against the background of strengthening US relations with regions previously influenced by Russia.
