Gas was ignited under control on M-25

At the M-25 field in Boysun district of Surkhandarya region, gas was burned under control in order to prevent environmental damage. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.

On November 2, burning at the well was temporarily suspended due to natural geological processes. According to the Ministry, the process of controlled gas burning is a standard measure for environmental and industrial safety and meets international requirements.

"Currently, the situation is stable and under the supervision of specialists," the ministry's statement said. It was also specifically emphasized that the incident is not related to the earthquake that occurred on the night of November 3.

It should be noted that the ministry had earlier reported that work on controlled gas burning at the M-25 well was carried out in the spring of this year. Last year, hydrogen sulfide emissions occurred in this area.
