In the Navoi region, the corruption of an official of a higher educational institution was stopped. As part of the fight against corruption, an operational event was held jointly with the Navoi Regional Department of the State Security Service and the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office.
It was reported that an official of Navoi State University was caught red-handed while receiving 35 million soums in exchange for transferring 189 million soums to the LLC's account, which should have been paid as a service fee to the limited liability company that carried out the repair of the educational institution's classrooms.
During the operation, his illegal actions were fully exposed. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against this official under Article 210, Part 2, Clause "v" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a preventive measure of imprisonment has been applied against him. An investigation is currently underway.
It is noted that this person, despite being previously convicted, did not draw the right conclusions from his mistake. Law enforcement agencies affirm that measures to combat corruption will be resolutely continued.
