Another case of corruption has been identified at Navoi State University. An official of the educational institution was detained while receiving a bribe of 35 million soums. This was officially reported by the State Security Service.
It was reported that within the framework of anti-corruption measures, a special operational event was held in cooperation with the Navoi Regional Department of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office.
During the event, it was revealed that an official of Navoi State University demanded 35 million soums through bribery in exchange for transferring 189 million soums to the LLC's account, which should have been paid as a service fee to the limited liability company that carried out the repair of classrooms in this higher educational institution, and was caught red-handed while receiving it.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against this official under Article 210 of the Criminal Code, Part 2, Clause "v" of the bribery offense. The court has applied a preventive measure of "imprisonment" to him, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
During the investigation, it became known that this person had a criminal record before, but did not draw sufficient conclusions from his previous mistake.
