The State Security Service of Uzbekistan has uncovered a case of illegal gold trade in the Kattakurgan district of Samarkand region. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
The operation was conducted in collaboration with employees of the department for combating economic crimes. Three suspects from the Navoi and Samarkand regions were detained in connection with the case.
Two gold bars weighing a total of 475 grams were confiscated from them. It was determined that these gold bars had been obtained illegally.
The total value of the confiscated gold was 740.4 million som. The detention operation was carried out while the suspects were receiving part of the agreed amount for the transaction.
