Nestle recalls some batches of baby food in Uzbekistan

Nestle said it is voluntarily recalling a number of baby food batches from sale in Uzbekistan. Starting January 5, batches of NAN milk formulas as well as Alfaré Amino medical nutrition products are being removed from pharmacies and stores.
The company said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure and in line with Nestle’s strict quality and safety protocols. It added that it has informed the relevant authorities and is ready to answer customers’ questions.

According to Reuters, an internal investigation found the cereulide toxin in ingredients supplied by a third party. It can cause symptoms such as nausea and vomiting in children. The agency reported that Nestle is recalling infant formula in a total of 25 countries.
