Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have agreed to increase daily railway traffic to 35 pairs of trains. This decision was made during meetings held in Saryagash and Tashkent.
During the meetings, issues related to the transportation of grain and food products were discussed. As a result of the negotiations, Uzbekistan expressed its readiness to accept at least ten trains loaded with grain and five trains carrying food products daily.
To prevent delays, the parties agreed to ensure the uninterrupted operation of railway routes and all services, including during weekends and holidays. Furthermore, both sides decided to plan the export of goods and coordinate the circulation of empty wagons, taking into account the capacity of Uzbek receiving stations.
In the first 11 months of this year, the cargo volume between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan reached 28.5 million tons, an increase of 16% compared to the previous year. The volume of grain transportation rose by 32%, reaching 5.6 million tons.
