SamAuto state stake sold for $80 million

In Uzbekistan, the 75.2% state-owned stake in the "Samarkand Automobile Plant" LLC JV (SamAuto) has been privatized. This was reported by the State Assets Management Agency (SAMA).

The state stake was acquired by Anadolu Isuzu, a company that is part of Turkey's Anadolu Group. The value of the deal amounted to $80 million.

Additionally, the investor will allocate another $80 million for the development of the enterprise. The deal was also approved by Turkish regulatory authorities.

According to SAMA, the parties signed the purchase and sale agreement on November 19. As part of the privatization process, the parties will prepare a separate investment agreement.

The funds for SamAuto were transferred to the Privatization Fund on December 9. From this amount, 1 trillion soums were transferred to the state budget on December 10.
