Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Health has provided a detailed explanation regarding the primary reasons for introducing the electronic prescription system, which is being actively discussed on social media platforms. The main objective of the new system is to enhance the safety of treatment processes, prevent the misuse and falsification of medications, and improve the monitoring of prescription processes.
Additionally, the electronic prescription system is intended to streamline the work of doctors and facilitate the transition to a unified digital reporting system. Currently, the system is being implemented in Tashkent and 15 pilot districts.
The nationwide rollout of the system is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. During the trial phase, any system-related issues will be identified and resolved to ensure the full functionality of the service.
The ministry emphasized that through this system, essential medications will remain accessible under any circumstances for emergency situations, children, the elderly, and patients suffering from chronic illnesses. A dedicated reporting and monitoring mechanism has been established for these groups.
Furthermore, the ministry has formed a special task force to address system stability, workload levels at polyclinics, and the distribution of medications. This task force will enable prompt adjustments to the system as needed.
A Telegram bot, @ssv_pilotbot, has been launched to handle inquiries related to the operation of the electronic prescription system in pharmacies across Tashkent and pilot regions. Messages from citizens received through this bot will be prioritized for review.
The goal is to provide high-quality medical services to the population and ensure better care for patients in severe conditions through the electronic system.
