Central roads in Samarkand to be temporarily closed ahead of New Year

In preparation for New Year celebrations, transportation on several central streets in Samarkand will be temporarily restricted. According to the press service of the Traffic Safety Department, these restrictions will be in effect from December 20 to January 10.

Reportedly, certain routes in areas where festivities will take place will be closed to vehicle traffic to ensure safety and create a comfortable environment for residents. Specifically, the road leading from Amir Temur Square to the Hamid Olimjon Theater and streets surrounding Ko‘ksaroy Square will be restricted.

Additionally, parts of Beruniy Street, as well as roads leading to the railway station, will also be temporarily closed. Moreover, vehicle traffic will not be permitted on Umid Street, near the “Yoshlar” Park, and toward the “New Uzbekistan” Park.

The responsible authorities are urging city residents and visitors to plan their routes in advance during this period, use alternative roads, and strictly adhere to traffic rules.

It was noted that these restrictions are implemented to ensure public order and safety during the holiday period and to help residents celebrate New Year in a joyful atmosphere.
