Uzbekistan tour operators to receive subsidies for attracting pilgrims from Southeast Asia

Until the end of 2026, subsidies will be allocated under the “Umrah Plus” program to support Uzbekistan’s tour operators for bringing pilgrims to the country from Southeast Asia. The Ministry of Justice reported this. This was reported by kursiv.uz reports .
Starting January 15, a large-scale advertising campaign for the project will be launched in Malaysia and Indonesia. Tour operators will begin selling their tour packages online via the Unified National Tourism Platform.
To strengthen personnel training, a training laboratory will be established under the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan. The academy will also launch joint educational programs with Malaysian universities in “Tourism and Hospitality.”
According to the ministry, these measures will help introduce international standards in serving pilgrims visiting the country’s shrines.
