How much did Uzbekistan’s business activity index increase in 2025

According to the 2025 year-end results, Uzbekistan’s business activity showed steady growth: the index rose by 9.8% over the year. The Center for Economic Research and Reforms reported this.
During the reporting period, trading volume on the Uzbekistan Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange totaled 85.2 trillion soums, up 17% year on year.
The number of operating enterprises increased by 9.4% and reached 496.2 thousand by the beginning of 2026. Growth was mainly driven by small and large businesses. At the same time, the number of farms slightly declined from 91.7 thousand to 88.3 thousand.
Last year, a total of 75.7 million payment transactions were carried out—1% less than in 2024. The number of new trademarks registered by companies exceeded 4.6 thousand, but this result was also 6.4% lower year on year.
In December 2025, the business activity index rose to 1,067 points, up 6.7% compared to November. Positive dynamics were observed across all regions of the country, with the most notable growth recorded in Kashkadarya, Syrdarya, and Surkhandarya regions.
