President inspects nuclear power plant construction in Jizzakh
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Jizzakh region on December 2 to inspect the construction of a nuclear power plant. At the construction site, excavation work is already underway for two small reactors and two large reactors.

In addition, a construction base has been established, and a temporary residential settlement for workers is being built. Simultaneously, efforts are ongoing to supply essential materials for the nuclear power plant domestically and to train specialists for the facility.

Plans include building a dedicated "monotown" for 10,000 residents to accommodate nuclear power plant staff in the future. Furthermore, the President inaugurated a new overpass and a four-kilometer road.

With this new road, the travel distance to Jizzakh has been reduced from 25 kilometers to 4 kilometers. Over 14,000 vehicles are expected to use the road daily, easing traffic flow significantly.

The newly constructed overpass, built with modern technologies, has a designated lifespan of 100 years and ensures uninterrupted vehicle movement even during train operations. The President was also presented with urban renewal projects for the city, including reconstruction of old residential buildings, construction of new housing, establishment of an IT center and a craft center, as well as landscaping of central streets.
