Plans for a major international entertainment project — the construction of a Disneyland-themed park — are currently under discussion in Uzbekistan. The issue was thoroughly discussed during a meeting between Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration, and Jaime Washington, Vice President of The Walt Disney Company. The parties explored opportunities for developing cultural and tourism infrastructure in Uzbekistan that align with Disney's concept.
Additionally, a proposal was advanced to establish the Cinema Park creative hub in the country, providing favorable conditions for international companies. This space has the potential to become a modern platform for creators working in cinema, animation, and digital content sectors.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of training a new generation of animators, directors, and screenwriters in collaboration with Hollywood professionals. This step could serve as a significant foundation for bringing the local film and animation industry to the global market.
Moreover, discussions included opening a Central Asia regional office for Disney in Uzbekistan and launching a television channel dedicated to broadcasting content for children in the Uzbek language.
