At the meeting in Abu Dhabi, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed the latest steps to ease and stabilize relations between the two countries. According to official information, the parties welcomed the positive progress observed in the implementation of the agreements reached at the peace summit held in Washington with the mediation and participation of US President Donald Trump.
The leaders' main focus was on one thing: not to lose the positive momentum. That is, it was emphasized that the process of normalization should be promoted not by "enough," but by regular dialogue and practical work.
During the discussion, the signs of peace that are felt in life, not on paper, were also noted. In particular, it was noted that bilateral trade has begun, and the supply of petroleum products from Azerbaijan to Armenia continues. The transit of grain and other goods from third countries to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan was also noted with satisfaction. The parties agreed to study the possibilities of expanding trade and economic ties more deeply - therefore, this is still "the beginning," there is still a continuation.
At the meeting, the issue of strengthening trust was not left out. It was noted that the leaders supported mutual visits of civil society representatives, and such dialogues can reduce the distance between people. That is, besides "politicians are talking," societies also need to start recognizing each other again - this is where the real "immunity" of peace emerges.
Projects in the field of communications and communications were also discussed. In particular, issues of implementing the TRIPP project and other initiatives in this area were raised. Simply put: if the roads, connections, and transit mechanisms work - the agreements transition to "real mode."
In conclusion, Aliyev and Pashinyan reaffirmed their readiness to continue efforts to further strengthen peace and stability between the two countries. Most importantly, the parties agreed not to break ties and not to cease communication to promote the normalization process.
