Shavkat Mirziyoyev Proposes Removal of Trade Barriers

Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed the elimination of trade barriers
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed developing a "roadmap" for the phased elimination of trade barriers, simplification of regulations, and harmonization of requirements during the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting.

"To promptly address issues related to differences in technical regulation, certification, and customs management, we propose establishing a joint 'Uzbekistan–EAEU' coordination group on tariff and non-tariff barriers," said the head of state.

Mirziyoyev also suggested creating a unified list of joint projects in the sectors of mechanical engineering, energy, agriculture, chemistry, and others. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to develop plans within the framework of the Eurasian Development Bank to support infrastructure and "green" projects, as well as small and medium-sized businesses.

In addition, the president proposed developing a "roadmap" for integrating digital platforms, including directions for e-commerce and digital labeling. Tashkent has expressed interest in EAEU projects in the fields of biomedicine, energy, and robotics.

Uzbekistan also announced its readiness to cooperate in the creation of a common information resource in the tourism sector.
