After the match against Villarreal in Madrid, Barcelona winger Raphinha shared his thoughts on not being included in FIFA's Team of the Year. The Brazilian player openly stated that this issue does not affect him at all.
According to him, personal recognition and individual awards are secondary matters. The primary focus, he said, is on the team's achievements at the end of the season.
“It doesn’t matter to me. To be honest, I don’t care at all. The most important thing is what Barcelona achieves at the end of the season,” said Raphinha.
The winger, who has been with Barcelona since the summer of 2022, is regarded as one of the key components of the team's attack. His current contract with Barcelona runs until the end of June 2028, reflecting the club's long-term trust in him.
Previously, the team's head coach Hansi Flick also labeled Raphinha's exclusion from FIFA's Team of the Year as an unjust decision. Nonetheless, the player himself once again emphasized that he prioritizes the team's goals over external evaluations.
For Raphinha, the most crucial aspect now is to make his impact on the pitch and lead Barcelona towards trophies. Other debates, in his view, are nothing more than unnecessary noise.
