Uzbekistan plans to raise tourism exports to $20 billion

O‘zbekistonda turizm eksportini $20 mlrd.ga yetkazish reja qilindiUzbekistan plans to increase exports of tourism services to $20 billion over the next five years. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this in his address to parliament and the nation.
In Samarkand, modern pedestrian walkways and bridges will be built, and Bibi-Khanym, Registan, the Amir Temur Mausoleum, the Ulugbek Observatory, Shohi-Zinda and the Afrosiyob Museum will be объединены into a single tourist space.
In addition, the first phase of the large “Gelon” tourism complex will be launched in Shahrisabz, while the “Arashan” mountain resort and tourism zone will be established in Pop district.
Ichon-Qal’a will be transformed into an immersive “smart” museum-city. A major tourist ring will also be created around archaeological sites in Khorezm and Karakalpakstan, expected to boost the regions’ appeal and extend foreign visitors’ stays.
To stimulate demand in the services sector, 85 trillion soums in loans and 9 trillion soums in subsidies are planned. Additionally, 7 trillion soums will be allocated from the budget to support education services.
