Uzbekistan to launch 782 projects in 2026

Oʻzbekistonda 2026 yilda 782 loyiha boshlanadiIn 2026, Uzbekistan will begin implementing 782 new industrial and infrastructure projects worth a total of $52 billion. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this. Next year, 228 major production facilities valued at $14 billion are planned to be commissioned, marking an important stage in the country’s technological and innovative development. According to the president, a completely new approach is needed to boost the economy’s competitiveness, increase investment efficiency, and carry out the technological transformation of industrial sectors. To this end, the work of the ministries of economy and finance, investments, industry and trade will be fully reviewed. The projects include building new metallurgical complexes, chemical plants, and developing high-tech industries. For example, gold and silver deposits will be developed in Namangan region, while in Almalyk a metallurgical complex with a capacity of 300,000 tons of cathode copper per year is being built. In Samarkand’s chemical plant and in Kashkadarya region, production of new fertilizers and chemical products will be launched. Under the industrial development program, over five years the added value of industrial output is planned to rise from $36.5 billion to at least $60 billion, while output in high-tech sectors is expected to increase 2.5 times. As a result, by 2026 exports will reach $40 billion, and the share of finished and semi-finished products will exceed 55%.
