From January 1, 2026, large-scale changes that directly affect the lives of the population will come into force in Uzbekistan. The innovations cover the spheres of social protection, healthcare, transport, education, digitalization, economics, and construction, aimed at making public services more open, efficient, and closer to the interests of the individual.
Social sphere: excessive paperwork will be stopped
From now on, maternity benefits will be automatically assigned and paid without requiring citizens to submit an application. This process will be carried out through the new state social insurance system. Expenses for recreation and health camps for excellent students from low-income families will be covered by the state.
Families included in the Social Protection Register will also have the opportunity to receive interest-free loans to start their own business. In order to develop Paralympic sports, special centers will be created, and sports schools will be specialized in Paralympic sports. And from January 15, the census process will begin.
Healthcare: the range of free services will expand
The list of free medical services for socially vulnerable groups and patients with certain diseases will be expanded. Rare and hereditary diseases are included in a separate list. The level of provision of children with medicines and medical equipment will be brought almost to 99 percent. All medical equipment and devices are subject to mandatory state registration.
Transportation: clear rules, transparent system
A new "A1" category certificate will be introduced for moped and scooter drivers. Payment amounts for car insurance will be increased, and the practice of selling "beautiful" license plates through auction will be abolished. A cashless payment system will be gradually introduced in public transport in Termez.
Education and language policy: efficiency first
Heads of schools and preschool educational institutions will be incentivized based on performance indicators. New residential complexes are required to be named only in the state language. The position of Advisor on State Language and Spirituality Issues will be established in government agencies.
Digitalization: services - online, control - automatic
Payments for household waste will be fully transferred to an electronic system. State bodies do not require paper documents from citizens. Notarial services will be simplified, and identity verification will be carried out using biometric technologies. The U-Gaz information system will be mandatory for all gas stations.
Economy and business: confidence in the entrepreneur grows
Inspections of entrepreneurs are carried out only in justified cases. Tax reports will be generated automatically, and the amount of fines will be reduced. Citizens of Uzbekistan will have the opportunity to make direct investments in US companies. Preferential loans will be allocated for women's businesses, and subsidies will be provided to entrepreneurs who employ people with disabilities. A unified QR code system for electronic payments will be launched.
Construction and public administration: transparency and accountability
Shared construction is carried out only through escrow accounts. Changing the specified height of multi-story buildings is prohibited. Hokimiyats will be transformed into centers for providing comprehensive services to the population, a KPI system for civil servants and mandatory medical examinations will be introduced.
In short, from January 1, many processes in our lives will be simplified, transparency will increase, and public services will become closer to the citizen. These changes are a concrete step towards the future.
