The Global Peace Index 2025, prepared by the Institute of Economics and Peace, which assesses the state of security and stability in various countries of the world, has been published. According to it, Uzbekistan ranked 67th among 163 countries.
The authors of the study note that the level of peace in the world continues to decline. This year, the global average peace index decreased by 0.36%, which is a negative trend observed for the sixth year in a row. Experts attribute this situation to the growing risk of major regional and international conflicts.
At the same time, the rating was noteworthy for Uzbekistan with positive news. The country rose two positions compared to last year, placing itself between Moldova and Cyprus.
In terms of Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan showed the best result with 56th place. Next are Kyrgyzstan (78th place), Tajikistan (79th place), and Turkmenistan (87th place).
Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, Austria, Switzerland, Singapore, Portugal, Denmark, Slovenia, and Finland were included in the list of the 10 most peaceful countries in the world.
Russia is at the bottom of the ranking. Ukraine, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria, South Sudan, Israel, and Mali are also among the most unstable countries.
For information, the Global Peace Index rating is compiled based on 23 indicators. They cover the level of public security, the state of internal and external conflicts, and the level of militarization of states.
