In January–November 2025, the number of foreign citizens studying in Uzbekistan reached 37.2 thousand. According to the National Statistics Committee, this figure increased by 54.3% compared to the same period last year. This was reported by kursiv.uz. reports .
Among international students, Indian citizens led the way — 16.3 thousand people. They were followed by Turkmenistan (8.9 thousand) and Tajikistan (2.7 thousand).
The list of those who came to study in Uzbekistan also highlights high figures for citizens of Pakistan (1.7 thousand) and China (1.4 thousand).
Countries whose citizens are actively coming to study also include South Korea (870), Kyrgyzstan (823), Egypt (737), the Philippines (501) and the USA (464).
Among European countries, the most students were sent by the United Kingdom (179), Russia (164) and Italy (94). The top-20 list also includes Turkey, Afghanistan, Jordan, South Africa, Iran, Kazakhstan and Bangladesh.
