The Council of Scholars of the Religious Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation has issued a new fatwa for Muslim employees working in the delivery sector. According to it, the transportation and delivery of products that contradict Islamic requirements were prohibited. This was reported by the official press service of the department.
The fatwa states that Muslim couriers are prohibited from delivering alcoholic beverages, pork, meat from animals not slaughtered according to Sharia rules, idols, gambling-related items, and other haram products. This decision was made in accordance with the rules of Islamic Sharia to ensure honesty in the work activities of Muslims.
At the same time, the new procedure states that if such goods are being transported for destruction or if the courier delivered them without knowing what was in the cargo, this situation is not considered a sin.
The list of goods permitted for delivery is also clearly defined. According to it, meat of animals, grain products, milk, butter, fruits, vegetables, clothing, household appliances, construction products, furniture, books, medicines and medical instruments can be delivered by couriers.
If the order contains a mixture of halal and haram products, the courier is advised to donate a certain portion of the income as charity.
"If the courier does not know the exact composition of the order, this activity is not considered contrary to Sharia. However, if they knowingly deliver the prohibited product, it will be contrary to Islamic rules," the department's statement said.
