The most beautiful word in the world has been announced

An international jury has determined the most beautiful word in the world. The winner is a word from the language of the indigenous people of New Zealand, the Māori: «kaitiakitanga» was selected.

Expertsnote that this word expresses the idea of protecting nature, treating the environment with responsibility, and preserving it for future generations. When choosing the winner, the main criteria were not only the sound of the word but also its deep meaning, cultural significance, and relevance to the modern world.

The competition featured 223 words from over 75 languages of the world. The final stage also included popular and unique words such as the Portuguese «saudade», the Japanese «ikigai», the Welsh «hiraeth», the Zulu «ubuntu» , and the Yiddish «luftmensch» .

The organizers noted that the project aims to introduce the public to unique words from various languages that cannot be fully or accurately translated into other languages, and to promote their meaning and cultural value.
