Man Who Smoked for 26 Years Wears Cage on His Head to Quit Smoking

Ibrahim Yucel smoked two packs of cigarettes a day for 26 years. After his father died of lung cancer, he firmly decided to give up the harmful habit for good.

However, the method Ibrahim chose was far from ordinary. He made a cage from 40 meters of copper wire that fit over his head. The cage had only a small opening for drinking liquids through a straw. The key to unlock it was kept by his wife.

People around him did not understand his actions, and some laughed. His family members were also initially embarrassed by his appearance. Nevertheless, Ibrahim did not change his mind and limited his ability to reach for a cigarette this way.

His unusual method showed that fighting smoking can require not only strong willpower but also drastic measures.
