
Since the beginning of the year, solar and wind power plants in Uzbekistan have produced 9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, the Ministry of Energy reported. Currently, there are 12 solar and 5 wind power plants operating in the country with a total capacity of about 4.7 gigawatts.
As a result of using green energy, 2.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas were saved and the emission of approximately 4 million tons of harmful substances into the atmosphere was prevented. Since the beginning of 2025, hydro, solar, and wind power plants in the country have produced a total of 14.5 billion kilowatt-hours of energy.
The share of green energy in the country's total electricity production is 23 percent. This amount is enough to supply electricity to 7.5 million households for ten months.
