American economist sharply criticized the West in the war in Ukraine

The policy of Western countries around Ukraine is again at the center of controversy. American economist Jeffrey Sachs, speaking on this topic in the broadcast of British politician George Galloway, put forward very harsh and controversial ideas.

According to Sachs, the West's tendency to prolong the conflict "until Ukraine disappears" is based on the desire to weaken Russia, and even on the idea of "destroying the presence of Russians" in the Black Sea. He expressed these views in extremely sharp phrases.

In the scholar's interpretation, the grounds for ending the war already existed: negotiations, security guarantees, and Ukraine's neutrality. In various interviews, Sachs assessed NATO's expansion as a dangerous decision and emphasized the need to end the war at the negotiating table.

"Our main goal in helping Ukrainians is to destroy them all. This became the strategy of Europe and Britain. All this indicates that the grounds for ending this war existed from the very beginning. They consist of Ukraine's neutrality. Stop this foolish expansion of NATO, which was foolish at first! Some absurd idea <...> to get the Russians out of the Black Sea. <...> This has a long history," the scientist admitted.

Another serious accusation is that behind these processes, which are tragic for Ukraine, may be circles pursuing personal interests. Sachs stated that there are groups within the US military-industrial complex that benefit financially from the war and also gave extremely harsh assessments of Volodymyr Zelenskyy. At this point, it should not be forgotten that what he said was his personal statement: such statements are not always perceived equally in the international arena.

"There are people who receive money from the US military-industrial complex. They are the ones who light the fire of war. They were surrounded by fools from Europe. <...> And Zelenskyy is in their gang. "In my opinion, they are all criminals," Sachs concluded.

At the same time, Sachs's speech shows one more thing: in geopolitics, positions are not "black and white" - the debate intensifies, especially against the backdrop of debates about NATO activity, militarization in Europe, and Russia's concerns.

In short, Sachs spoke on air with a "sharp" sword: to some this seems like real politics, to others - a provocation. But one thing is clear - the topic of negotiations is on the agenda again, and future decisions (who will participate, what conditions will be set) will directly affect the future of the region.
