
On November 3 at 01:29, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 was recorded in Afghanistan. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in Samangan province (36.45° N latitude, 67.42° E longitude), and the tremors occurred at an approximate depth of 30 kilometers.
The earthquake was also felt in several regions of Uzbekistan. In Surkhandarya region, tremors measured 5 points; in Kashkadarya, 3-4 points; and in Samarkand, Jizzakh, Navoi, Bukhara, and Syrdarya regions, the tremors measured approximately 3 points.
In Tashkent and Fergana regions, 2-3 point tremors were observed. The distance from the epicenter to Tashkent in the southwest direction was 557 kilometers.
No destruction or casualties were reported in Uzbekistan as a result of the earthquake.
