The Golovinsky Court of Moscow has ruled to arrest the director general of the publishing house "Jem," Andrey Cherkasov, according to TASS.
Cherkasov is accused of large-scale fraud. However, he denies the charges and is preparing to appeal the court's decision.
Producer Maxim Fadeev commented on the arrest via his social media accounts. He noted that he had been fighting for justice to protect copyright for many years.
According to him, in the late 1990s, someone forged his signatures on documents, transferring the rights to music written for Linda to other individuals. Fadeev stated that he has not received royalties for 30 years and now plans to sue Cherkasov and others involved in the case.
He expressed hope for an investigation to restore his rights and fully examine the matter. "A system built on fake contracts and deceiving authors is collapsing," wrote the producer.
Fadeev is not the only artist to report disputes linked to Cherkasov. In December 2024, Sergey Zhukov approached the Supreme Court and the Investigative Committee, claiming that Cherkasov demanded rights to "Ruki Vverkh!" songs based on documents signed by former producer Andrey Malikov in 2006.
According to Zhukov, Malikov had not worked with the group for seven years by that time. This incident is considered one of the most notable scandals related to the "Jem" publishing house.
No official comments have yet been provided by Cherkasov’s representatives regarding the statements made by Fadeev and Zhukov. According to the court decision, Cherkasov will remain in pre-trial detention until January 27, 2026.
