Tokyo Tower illuminated in the colors of the Uzbek flag

The Tokyo Tower was illuminated in the colors of the Uzbek state flag, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported. This event was carried out ahead of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Japan.

The head of state will participate in the first "Central Asia + Japan" summit. During the meeting, it is planned to discuss issues aimed at strengthening cooperation between Tashkent and Tokyo.

According to The Mainichi publication, during the summit, the Japanese government plans to propose cooperation with Central Asian countries on artificial intelligence and the modernization of logistics in the Caspian Sea. Tokyo aims to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with the countries of the region following the summit.

Between 2017 and 2024, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Japan grew 2.3 times, reaching a total of 388.6 million US dollars. During this period, Tokyo invested 184 million US dollars in Uzbekistan's economy.

As of mid-December this year, 121 enterprises with Japanese capital were operating in Uzbekistan. The Tokyo Tower is considered a symbol of the Japanese capital and one of its most famous landmarks.

Built in 1958, the structure stands 333 meters tall and was originally used for television and radio broadcasting. The tower features observation decks and is painted in white and orange colors.
