Mobile Communication Price Increase Under Review

The Competition Promotion Committee has initiated a study into the recent increase in mobile communication service prices. This was announced by the committee via its Telegram channel.

The current analysis focuses on how operators' expenses aimed at improving service quality and expanding coverage are affecting service prices. Should the committee detect anti-competitive practices or indications of collusion, a formal investigation will be launched.

If any violations are confirmed, legal actions will be taken against the responsible parties. Economist Otabek Bakirov commented that the increase in tariffs might be related to the sharp reduction in taxes paid by mobile communication operators.

"This is likely connected to the cancellation of excise taxes for mobile communication companies. Essentially, they are now paying fewer taxes and earning higher revenues," the expert stated.
