In Jizzakh region, negligence during hunting led to serious consequences. A hunting trip with companions in the Mirzachul district ended in a human fatality.

According to available information, a 31-year-old man identified as G.A., a resident of Ishtikhon district of Samarkand region, traveled to Jizzakh region on October 5, 2025, together with three acquaintances. They planned to hunt wild boar on a field area located within the territory of the Gulzor neighborhood of Mirzachul district. During the hunt, participants positioned themselves separately and hid among reeds in different locations.

After nightfall, G.A.’s companion, U.M., approached his hiding place through the reeds. Due to poor visibility, the hunter mistook him for a wild animal and, without observing safety precautions, fired a single shot from his hunting weapon. The bullet struck the back part of the victim’s brain, causing critical injuries.

The injured man was urgently transported to a hospital, but despite medical efforts, his life could not be saved.

During the court proceedings, G.A. fully admitted his guilt, stating that the incident occurred in darkness and that the deceased was his close friend. It was also established that he had been officially engaged in hunting for two years.

By the verdict of the Mirzachul District Criminal Court, G.A. was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 102 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan — causing death by negligence. He was sentenced to deprivation of hunting rights for one year and 1 year and 6 months of corrective labor with 20 percent of his wages deducted in favor of the state.

This incident once again clearly demonstrated the importance of strictly observing safety rules during hunting.
