800 Outdated Documents to Be Annulled in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan plans to revoke nearly 800 outdated documents to reduce regulatory burdens. This initiative was announced during a presentation to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on reforms in intellectual property and archival operations.

In addition, more than 70 documents will be reviewed, and over ten excessive requirements related to entrepreneurship will be reduced. The effectiveness of laws will be evaluated, contradictions will be eliminated, and legal gaps will be addressed.

The presentation also discussed digitizing archival documents, aiming to increase the digitization level to 60 percent by 2030.

For this purpose, a tracking system for documents utilizing modern technologies will be implemented, and artificial intelligence will be used in their classification. District archives will be handed over to regional offices.

Moreover, a proposal to create a "Genealogy" service was put forward, allowing users to establish their family trees, including genetic information. A clinical and dual education system is planned to be introduced at the Tashkent University of Law, with practical training comprising 50 percent of the curriculum.

The university will open new disciplines such as "Digital Law" and "Corporate Law and Governance." Proposals include updating the structure of faculties and gradually replacing departments with divisions.

Within the framework of developing intellectual property, centers will be established at higher education institutions and research centers to assist in patenting developments. It is planned to open a "Management of Intellectual Property" program at the National University and four other higher education institutions.

To support creators, a competition for the "Best Intellectual Property Objects" is planned, along with the establishment of an honorary badge to recognize contributions to the field.
