
New projects worth a total of $540 million are set to be launched in the Jizzakh Free Economic Zone (FEZ). Additionally, the construction of a new power substation and wastewater treatment facilities is planned in the region.
These plans were announced during an extraordinary session of the regional council attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The session highlighted further expansion of the automotive industry and the development of related sectors in the region.
Moreover, projects related to the extraction of tungsten, gold, lead, and uranium will continue. To ensure stable energy supply, 200 megawatts of capacity will be created this year, and 300 megawatts will be added next year.
Furthermore, 150 small hydroelectric power stations with a total capacity of 30 megawatts will be commissioned. In the tourism sector, Bakhmal and Zomin districts will be integrated into a single tourist network, and a 158-kilometer road connecting the two districts will be renovated.
Bakhmal district will be granted tourist zone status. Arnasay Airport will undergo modernization, and a railway to the Aydar-Arnasay Lake system is planned to be constructed.
In agriculture, 110,000 hectares of pastures and rain-fed lands will be utilized. Potato growers will receive preferential loans and compensations for their expenses, and imported equipment will be exempt from customs duties.
Additional subsidies will be allocated to orchard farmers in Bakhmal, while a large poultry factory will be established in Zomin district. Special attention will also be given to the development of urban infrastructure.
The development of Jizzakh city and Sharof Rashidov district will follow a unified master plan. A bypass road and a new bridge are planned to be built around the city.
Approximately 10 trillion soums will be allocated to support entrepreneurship and infrastructure development in the region.
