Singer Khojiakbar Mallaboyev shared his views in an interview on the “Omon-Omon” program regarding the fact that the song “Gulbadan” is performed by singer Dilnoz Hakimova.
According to him, Dilnoz Hakimova personally approached him first to perform the song.
“One day Dilnoz said: ‘Khojiakbar brother, may I also sing this song of yours? I really liked it,’ and asked for permission. I replied, ‘Alright,’” the singer said.
Khojiakbar Mallaboyev noted that Dilnoz Hakimova even took part in the wedding ceremony when his son got married and performed the song “Gulbadan” there.
“At that wedding, she performed the song as part of the service, and I myself danced to my own song,” he recalled.
Continuing his remarks, the singer added:
“During concert programs, she again asked, ‘May I sing this song?’ I agreed once more. Dilnoz is originally of Uyghur descent, and she said she grew very fond of the song.”
Touching upon the issue of filming a music video, Khojiakbar Mallaboyev stated:
“When I mentioned that making a video clip might be difficult, Dilnoz said she wouldn’t be able to shoot such a large-scale clip anyway. That’s why I personally gave permission,” he said.
At the same time, the singer expressed regret that nowadays some performers sing songs without even asking for permission.
