Saida Mirziyoyeva, the Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, emphasized on her Telegram channel that environmental damage can never be justified by economic profit. She recently visited a greenhouse in the Qibray district of Tashkent region for inspection.
The greenhouse was reportedly burning approximately 150 kg of coal per day. “The damage to public health caused by such activities far outweighs any economic benefits,” Saida Mirziyoyeva stated.
She announced that she had instructed the ecological commission to install purification filters at the greenhouse. Additionally, plans are in place to hold special training courses and organize a fair for purchasing equipment for entrepreneurs.
Saida Mirziyoyeva also attended a meeting discussing the air quality in the capital and the Fergana region. Plans are underway to establish a scientific laboratory for assessing atmospheric conditions on this matter.
The special commission combating air pollution stated that the measures being implemented are not temporary but will continue even after improvements in the situation. According to the latest data, Tashkent city ranks 24th in the global list of cities with the most polluted air.
Cities such as Lahore, Dhaka, and Delhi occupy the top positions in this ranking.
