Counterfeit products remain one of the most painful problems in the market for medicines, alcoholic beverages, and household appliances. In many cases, such goods appear almost identical to the original product, but they can be dangerous to human health or completely illegal. Therefore, combating this problem has become a pressing issue not only for the state but also for consumers.
According to the World Health Organization, counterfeit medicines account for about 15% of the global pharmaceutical market. Violations in the segments of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, and household appliances are also noted as the most frequent areas. Taking into account these dangerous trends, these product groups were chosen as a priority in the digital marking system.
The "Asl Belgisi" digital marking system, implemented in Uzbekistan, allows consumers to independently, quickly, and freely verify the authenticity of products. The main advantage of the application is ease of use and a reliable source of information. The buyer scans the DataMatrix code on the package and receives official information about the product within a few seconds.
The significant reduction in the scale of illegal circulation after the launch of this system is also evident in the figures. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the share of illegal products in the alcoholic beverages market has decreased from 35% to 18%. In tobacco products, this indicator decreased from 19.6% to 9%. This confirms that digital control works in practice.
The effectiveness of the product tracking system is especially evident in the pharmaceutical segment. During 2024-2025, the number of medicine packages accounted for through the system increased by more than 82 percent. In retail trade, growth is even higher - the volume of products sold to consumers and removed from the system has increased almost tenfold. It is noteworthy that the largest number of checks through the mobile application are carried out specifically on medicines.
Patients and consumers are scanning packaging to verify the authenticity of their purchased products. The increase in the number of labeled packages, retail activity, and the high level of mobile application usage indicate a decrease in the risk of illegal circulation and an increase in consumer confidence.
Each product is marked with a unique DataMatrix code. When this code is scanned through the "Asl Belgisi" application, the user receives complete and reliable information about the product from the national registry. If the code is fake or the product has not been officially registered, the system immediately notifies the buyer.
As of October 1, 2025, 368 domestic and 922 foreign participants were registered in the medical products segment in the National Register of Designated Products. In the field of household appliance production, 307 domestic and 1,943 foreign manufacturers are connected to the system. These figures indicate that the scope of digital designation is constantly expanding.
According to experts, further development of the system will contribute to reducing the volume of "gray" imports, strengthening healthy competition, and increasing trust in legitimate producers. The verification process takes only a few seconds, but significantly reduces the risk of purchasing counterfeit products.
This is especially important in the field of medicines and tobacco products. The "Asl Belgisi" system makes the relationship between the buyer and the seller transparent, formulating uniform and fair rules for all market participants.
The mobile application is completely free for Android and iOS users. To use it, it is enough to open the application, scan the DataMatrix code, and obtain official information about the product. Digital marking has proven its effectiveness: it protects consumers from counterfeit products and makes the market more secure and reliable.
