Uzbekistan MFA Comments on Uzbeks Sentenced in Dubai

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has issued an official statement in response to reports in the media and social networks about Uzbeks sentenced in Dubai. This was reported by uzdaily.uzreports.

According to the ministry, the incident occurred in April 2025 and involved a mass brawl with the participation of eight Uzbek citizens.

On January 21, the Dubai court issued a verdict, sentencing the eight individuals involved in the brawl to life imprisonment. Another Uzbek citizen was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

The MFA emphasized that Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions and relevant authorities are thoroughly investigating the situation and taking necessary measures to protect the rights of the citizens.
