A significant step has been taken toward improving transport infrastructure in the Fergana Valley. A modern electric train service connecting the cities of Andijan, Kokand, Margilan, and Namangan has been officially launched.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made the inaugural journey along this route together with members of the public. The head of state traveled from Kokand to Margilan on the new train, emphasizing the particular importance of the project.

This initiative was implemented as part of a resolution aimed at increasing the volume of passenger transport on local railway routes by 2030. The 324-kilometer railway ring brings the cities of the valley closer together, providing a convenient and affordable travel option for the population.
The new electric train was manufactured locally at the Tashkent Passenger Carriage Construction Plant. The six-car train is designed for 586 passengers and can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h.

The most interesting part is the prices. For example, a trip from Kokand to Margilan costs only 15,000 soum. This is considered a much more economical and comfortable alternative compared to road transport. The service is planned to accommodate 1,500 passengers daily and approximately 600,000 passengers per year.
The train interior has also seen a "level-up": air conditioning, climate control, free Wi-Fi, and USB ports are all available. Special conditions for persons with disabilities and spaces for bicycles have also been organized. Safety has not been overlooked, with video surveillance and modern crash systems installed.

During the journey, the President spoke with regional activists, highlighting the economic and social significance of the project. Particular emphasis was placed on creating new jobs through the development of services, tourism, and small businesses around the stations.
In short, this is not just a train—it is a new rhythm for the valley. Distances have now shortened, and opportunities have grown.
