A serious traffic accident occurred in the Samarkand region, resulting in injuries following a collision between two vehicles. This was reported by the regional Road Safety Department.
According to the report, the incident took place on one of the internal roads in the Jomboy district. Video footage shows a Gentra vehicle traveling at high speed and violently striking the rear of another Gentra parked on the roadside. As a result of the powerful impact, the parked car and its driver, who was standing nearby, were thrown several meters away.
Notably, two children were playing on the roadside at the time of the incident; one of them managed to dodge the oncoming vehicle at the last moment.
As a result of the traffic accident, both drivers sustained various injuries and were hospitalized. In his statement, the speeding driver admitted to driving at approximately 90 km/h while under the influence of alcohol.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the situation. Legal measures are expected to be taken against the offending driver, including the revocation of his driver's license.
The increasing number of such road accidents in the regions has been causing concern recently. Experts are urging drivers to strictly follow traffic rules, particularly to refrain from speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.
