Experts: smartphones may become 10-30% more expensive in spring

With the arrival of spring, not only the weather, but also gadgets may become "hot." According to information technology expert Eldar Murtazin, there is a possibility that smartphones will become more expensive by an average of 10-30% by spring.
The main reason for such a forecast is the increase in the price of memory chips on the market. Earlier, analysts noted that memory elements used in smartphones are becoming more expensive globally. In particular, according to the international analytical company Counterpoint Research, memory prices may rise by 40-50% in the first quarter of the year, and by another approximately 20% in the second quarter.
Murtazin said that prices are already changing before his eyes. But by March-April, this process will be especially noticeable, and price increases will vary depending on the type of equipment. According to him:
- smartphones can become more expensive by 10 to 30 percent;
- laptops are likely to rise by an average of 20%;
- and for gaming laptops, the growth can reach 30-40%.
According to the expert, the process is not limited to smartphones or computers. Gradually, other types of equipment, including household appliances, may become more expensive.
The conclusion is simple: for those who plan to buy a phone or laptop in the coming months, putting it off until spring might turn out to be an "expensive joke."
