The management of the Brazilian giants "Flamengo" has openly voiced the idea of bringing Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior back home in the future. It is reported that Jose Broto, one of the club's executives responsible for sports, commented on this initiative to Mundo Deportivo.
The "hot" point is that Flamengo isn't just dreaming about this topic; they're also making real calculations. The club recently brought back Lucas Paquetá from Europe (it has been confirmed that he came from West Ham United) and has now also brought up Vinicius as their "next big name."
Broto's point is simple: if Vinicius doesn't agree to a new contract with Real Madrid and fulfills his current contract, the player could leave as a free agent in the summer of 2027. In this scenario, Flamengo didn't hide the fact that they wouldn't pay the transfer fee, but would only negotiate with the player himself and consider the possibility of getting him back. The phrase "our doors are always open" was also said here.
But there's one nuance: this doesn't mean "they'll move in tomorrow" right now. Vinicius' current contract with Real Madrid runs until June 2027, and ESPN also reported that he commented on the player, saying, "I want to stay even after 2027." That is, there is a desire to stay in Madrid, and negotiations are underway.
At the same time, Flamengo has one strong card: Vinicius is a product of the club's academy. He went to Europe in 2018 for a large sum, before making a name for himself playing for Flamengo's first team.
