At the meeting, the head of state specifically addressed the issue of training personnel in the field of artificial intelligence. He emphasized that success in this area depends not only on modern infrastructure or advanced algorithms, but also on specialists with deep knowledge and skills. "The foundation of artificial intelligence is mathematics and computer science. Therefore, personnel training should begin at the school level," the President said.
Starting next academic year, new topics related to artificial intelligence will be introduced into the computer science curriculum. For this purpose, it is planned to create a special textbook in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The head of state emphasized that the "New Uzbekistan" University will train 100 artificial intelligence trainers this year and 1,300 teachers next year. They, in turn, will provide modern knowledge to computer science teachers in schools and universities.
Every year, 100 of the most active and effective computer science teachers will be selected from among the potential specialists and will have the opportunity to improve their qualifications in countries with developed artificial intelligence.
At the same time, as a logical continuation of the "One Million Uzbek Coders" program, the project "One Million Artificial Intelligence Leaders" was launched. Within its framework, it is planned that this year 100 thousand young people, and next year at least 500 thousand young people will study the basics of artificial intelligence.
As the President noted, the project will also cover schoolchildren. Annually, a national competition on artificial intelligence will be held, and the young people who show the highest results, their mentors, and educational institutions will be appropriately rewarded.
500 young people who win this competition will be awarded laptops, 100 teachers will receive a prize of $1,000, and two educational institutions will receive electric vehicles.
According to Shavkat Mirziyoyev, "artificial intelligence technologies will be the main force for the development of the future, and the people who join this process early will succeed."
