Russian aircraft were observed near Alaska: what was the US's reaction?

Several Russian military aircraft have been identified and monitored near the coast of Alaska. NORAD issued an official statement. The incident was reportedly recorded on February 19, 2026, near the US Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
According to the command, control was carried out over two Tu-95, two Su-35, and one A-50. In response, the Americans launched two F-16, two F-35, one E-3, and four KC-135 refueling aircraft into the air - with the goal of accurately identifying, intercepting, and tracking the aircraft.
At the same time, NORAD did not assess this situation as an "attack": it was noted that Russian aircraft remained in international airspace and did not enter the sovereign airspace of Canada or the USA. The command added that "such flights are regularly monitored in Alaska's ADIZ area and are not considered a threat."
Meanwhile, another interesting detail also emerged: on the morning of February 20, 2026, tracking services reported that Boeing's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was traveling through Russian airspace. According to reports, it took off from the Joint Base Andrews around Washington, passed through the direction of Greenland, Norway, and Finland, was visible on Russian territory - in particular, in the direction of the Murmansk region, and then entered the airspace of Kazakhstan.
In short, the "eye-to-ear" mode in the sky worked again: on one side was the next episode of ADIZ, and on the other - an interesting flight. For now, from the official point of view, the situation is seen not as a sign of escalation, but as a typical observation-identification process.
