In Uzbekistan, it is now mandatory for all lifts installed in buildings and structures to undergo a technical inspection at least once a year. This new requirement aims to enhance public safety and ensure that all lifts are kept in proper working condition. According to recent regulations, lifts in regular use must be inspected by specialized organizations within a maximum of 12 months.
For newly installed and commissioned lifts, the law stipulates that, upon a contractor’s request, a technical check must be conducted within 10 working days by a qualified organization.
Based on the results of the inspection, each lift will be tagged with one of four colored labels:
. Green tag — indicates the lift is fully safe for use.
. Blue tag — signals the presence of minor faults.
. Red tag — means the lift is dangerous and strictly prohibited for use.
. Yellow tag — warns that there are issues needing attention.
Authorities will tighten monitoring and, if a lift is found with a red tag, it must be immediately taken out of service. Specialists advise the public to strictly follow safety rules and pay close attention to warning signs on all lifts.
These measures are designed to protect public life and health and to bring urban infrastructure up to modern standards. Under the new system, building and facility owners are required to monitor the technical condition of all lifts annually.
