Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti has voiced strong support for Vinicius Jr, saying the "Real Madrid" forward remains one of the most reliable players on the biggest occasions. The Italian manager said the winger has already shown he can decide major matches and believes he will again be crucial for his country. Reports Goal.com.
In comments to Radio MARCA, Ancelotti said Vinicius almost never disappears in high-pressure games. He argued that the new generation still needs time to build its full legacy, but stressed that the 25-year-old has repeatedly delivered in quarter-finals and semi-finals. For Ancelotti, that record makes Vinicius one of Brazil’s key weapons ahead of the World Cup.
The coach also played down concerns about the attacker’s emotional moments on the pitch. He acknowledged that Vinicius has had occasional flashpoints, including a sending-off in Spain, but said those incidents are exceptions rather than a pattern. According to Ancelotti, the Brazilian does not lose focus when the stakes are highest.
Ancelotti also praised Vinicius for his personality, describing him as joyful, humble and gifted. Looking ahead, he said he expects the star to enjoy a major tournament if selected. Brazil continue their build-up with friendlies against France on March 26, Croatia on April 1 and Egypt on June 7 before opening their Group C campaign against Morocco, Haiti and Scotland.
