A plant producing energy from waste is being built in Fergana
Construction has begun on a plant that will generate electricity by processing solid household waste in the village of Oqbilol, Fergana region. Chinese investors and local authorities are participating in the project.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Governors of the region Nuriddin Mamajonov and Hakimjon Dolimov. According to the regional administration, the plant will be capable of processing up to 1,500 tons of waste per day and producing 227.5 million kWh of electricity per year.

The volume of investments in the project amounts to $141.5 million. The construction is being carried out within the framework of the presidential decree on establishing such enterprises in Namangan and Fergana regions.
